Ghanaian private jet broker reveals Diddy’s team has reached out to Black Sherif

A Ghanaian Private jet broker, Kelvin Mensah, has revealed that the team of American super star, Diddy, reached out to him to connect them to Black Sherif.

Kelvin Mensah, also known as PJ Kev, is an entrepreneur born and raised in the Bronx, New York. In an interview with Hitz FM’s Andy Dosty, PJKev said he alerted Black Sherif about the effort made by Diddy’s team to get to him.

“Didy reached out to me trying to get in contact with Black Sherif,. I told him {Black Sherif} on Instagram. I said Diddy’s Team is trying to reach out to you.”

He indicated that Black Sherif responded to his message on Instagram. However, he can’t tell if any fruitful negotiations have ensued as a result of him connecting them.

“Yea he did respond. I don’t know. I just connect the dots and go my way. I really don’t wanna be in the music game any more because I have no interest in the music business although I love music. It’s just not my thing.”

Diddy, who is the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment is known to have worked on Burna Boy’s ‘TWICE AS TALL’ album.

According to reports , Black sherif and his team has not shown any positive vibes concerning Diddys message.

A fan who was disappointed that the Ghanaian artist was not responding said the budding musician and his team are fond of doing so.

He compared Black Sheriff’s attitude to Nigerian artists and echoed that the latter would have taken advantage of the opportunity.

Wendy shay admits going through broken heart

Wendy Shay has revealed that she has been served breakfast and she ate it humbly.

The Ghanaian singer whilst talking about her new song in a recent interview has disclosed that it's a broken heart song personal to her. "My new song 'Survivor' is a broken heart song, it's a personal song to me," she said.

Lyrics of the first verse of the song, got Wendy singing, "thunder fire go strike you (Motherf*cker), for the thing, you do to me, Then I no make ready for love, But the things you do make I fall Now look at that boy monkey".

After disclosing that the song is a broken heart piece, she continued that "because you know broken heart is universal, it doesn't know if you are an artist or you are a star or whatever, it can happen to a man it can happen to a woman".

According to Wendy Shay, the incident also influenced her to record her broken heart song. "That was the only way I could display my anger, through music and I want every woman and in some cases men to tap into that energy to let out any anger in them," she said.

Some angry University of Cape Coast students have allegedly attacked ‘Downflat’ Hitmaker KelvynBoy known in real life as Kelvyn Brown on the school's campus.

Kelvynboy was seen being heckled by some aggrieved students of UCC over his decision to perform early and leave Cape Coast Thus the UCC campus.

Social media reports have it that Kelvynboy was billed to perform at University of Cape Coast's 60th-anniversary launch. However, the Down Flat crooner had equally been booked for an event at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. So in a bid to satisfy both parties, Kelvynboy went to the campus of UCC first to perform so as to rush back as fast as possible to Accra to thrill the UPSA students. Kelvynboy's plans were not satisfactory enough for the students of UCC who felt aggrieved that he wanted to perform early which is not noted for A-list artistes (noted for coming on stage almost at the end). As a result, the UCC students prevented Kelvynboy from leaving as was seen in the video which is circulating on social media. backing down until their demands were met.

New Billboard Afrobeat Chart too lumping – Stonebwoy Said

Dancehall Musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known by his stage name Stonebwoy has described the newly introduced Billboards Afrobeat Chart as too lumping.

According to him, this initiative does not cater to the numerous genres of music produced in Africa.

He made this clear in a comment on the France 24 ahead of the Accra in Paris show scheduled to be held in France.

The Billboard Afrobeat Chart was introduced to provide a platform for upcoming artists to win over new audiences while showcasing their talents to the world.

In collaboration with Afro Nation, Billboard, on Tuesday, March 22, announced the launch of the first-ever United States chart for Afrobeats music.

The Afrobeats Songs Chart would rank the 50 most popular Afrobeats songs in the United States. The chart was live on Billboard.com on March 29.

The ranking was based on a weighted formula incorporating official streams on subscription and ad-supported tiers of topping audio and video music services, plus download sales from top music retailers. This news follows the growth of Afrobeats from the shores of Africa to the world. In the previous years, the genre has yielded some of the biggest success stories of the young decade.

While lauding the move, the award-winning artiste debated that the requirement needed to cut only favours a section of creatives.

Known in real life as Livingstone Etse Satekla, the artiste explained that many musicians depend on traditional distribution channels, which also leave a lasting impact on their audience.

“I think some of the criteria they use is when you trend on TikTok, but sometimes some of us are coming from schools where you just the music and the music lives with people,” he said.

However, tying their performance worldwide to social media trends may be unfair as “trending might be cool, but class is imperial.”

So I would debate it. It’s a beautiful thing: it keeps us pushing, it keeps us adding up to the Western standard, but if you ask Stonebwoy, I will tell you that it doesn’t stop there. It doesn’t even begin there, but it adds on to exposing African arts, and there are more above the standards that they create.

“The rules that put those songs on that chart aside that, there are actually gems hidden behind,” he pointed out.

Black Sherif’s Kweku the traveler making waves at number 5 on Billboard’s Afrobeats Songs chart

Black Sherif is on another chart a day after making his solo debut on Billboard’s Top Triller Global Chart.

The rapper’s ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ debuted at number five on the new Billboard Afrobeat Songs Chart.

The song beat ‘Finesse’ (by Pheelz and Buju) and ‘Attention’ (by Omah Lay and Justin Beiber), all of which have been on the chart for four weeks, to claim the spot.

‘Kwaku The Traveller’ also follows Wizkid’s ‘Essense’ at number 3 and Tems’ ‘Free Mind’ at number four.

At number one is Ckay with ‘Love Nwantintin’.

‘Kwaku The Traveller’ is the third song to make the new Afrobeats Songs chart since its released on March 29, 2020.

DJ Nektunez’s ‘Amenor Amapiano’, which debuted at number seven on March 29, is at the 13th spot, and Kelvyn Boy’s ‘Down Flat‘ holds the 33rd spot putting Ghana music on the Globe 🙏🔥.

This comes after, on Tuesday, April 19, ‘Kweku The Traveller’ held the 12th spot on the Billboard Top Triller Global Chart.

This is not the first time the song is making waves beyond Ghana’s borders.

After its release, ‘ ‘Kwaku the Traveller’ became the first Ghanaian song to rise to number one on the Top 100 Apple Music Chart in Nigeria which was a big surprise to most Ghanaians and the world at as a whole.

It was also number one in Ghana and Gambia. It also debuted on Apple Music’s Global Top 100 at number 73.

On AudioMack, Black Sherif was among the most streamed Hip-Hop artists. He was ahead of Kodak Black, Lil Durk and JUICEWRLD.

According to Shazam, ‘Kweku The Traveller’ became the most searched song in the world as at April 9.

Currently, it is number two on YouTube’s trending music list, and the audio has garnered about 4.2 million views on the platform two weeks after its release.

News was widespread that one of Ghana’s new fast rising artistes, Black Sherif, has disregard his manager, Snap Chavis Wayne, to join a new Record Label ,EMPIRE Entertainment, a foreign based record label located in the U.S. which has signed most of Ghanaian Artist like Kidi and Gyakie.

This statement was made by one popular radio presenter, DJ Slim who attacked Black Sherif of being a self-seeker.

The Popular radio personality accused that the artiste had abandoned a 7-bedroom house, a car and other personal items his manager made available to him for his personal use.

Another man of honor known as Madona has diluted this allegation made by DJ Slim, stating absolutely that he has always been the manager of Black Sherif before his stardom started.

In an interview with Prince also known as “Da Don” Tsegah on U Say Weytin on Hitz FM, Madonna was asked to make it clear to everyone on the position Snap assumed in Black Sherif’s team and the role Madonna played in the same establishment.

According to the gentleman , Madona claimed that the rapper had not dump his management as talked about in the media.

Well, it seems as if the media back and forth has not succeeded in diverting Blacko from dropping more bangers. He is suppose to release another single before the EP is released within the four month of 2022.
